Trends come and go every year, but summertime is the season for all the new ones to emerge. Maybe it’s the sunshine that get’s everyone’s brains ticking over or perhaps it’s the holidays people take that resets their focus and helps them come up with great ideas. Whatever the reason, there are always some new tops trends that appear in the summer. So, here are the top trends we can expect this summer in 2022.
Outdoor Events
With the summers spent behind closed doors during the pandemic, it’s no wonder that businesses are looking to host outdoor events this year. We can expect to see lots of giant inflatables, plenty of food and drink, and best of all, lots of connecting in person. Hosting outdoor events in the summer is a fantastic opportunity to create lots of new client and supplier relationships or simply give your team time to relax and enjoy each other’s company outside of the office. They’re also brilliant for generating brand awareness as well, as people will be interested in the cool looking event that’s going on. Using things like giant inflatables can also help you to push your name and logo, as people will definitely stop and take notice. So, if you’re thinking of having a company event this year, why not take it outside and enjoy the sunshine!
Video Content
More and more social media platforms are making a move towards video focused content, so businesses should start to do the same. People no longer enjoy simple pictures. They want music, in-depth insight, and moving images so if you want to capture their attention, you should start to follow suit and start making videos. They don’t have to be 5 minute long movies of you explaining everything about your product or business either. Something as simple as a 30 second clip of you showing the product with a quick voice-over can be more than enough. People don’t have the longest attention spans when scrolling through social media, so you want to get in there quick and be memorable. This summer will probably show all the other businesses making the most of the weather and creating video content for their social media, so make sure you’re doing the same.
Remote Working
Even though a lot of people have returned to the office, many have opted to stay working remotely, or at least have taken a hybrid approach. In the summer, people probably will have their children home, be meeting with friends and family more, so it only makes sense to eliminate their commute time and keep them working from home. A good work/life balance is crucial if you want happy employees, so giving them the summer they deserve after working so hard through the pandemic can be a great way to say thank you.
Focus On Sustainability
There’s also been a shift in attitudes towards sustainability as well. More companies have realised the impact they have on the environment and are taking steps to change it. We’ll probably see a lot of changes in packaging and even supplier changes too, as businesses look to swap them for more eco-friendly options. Summer can be a time of lots of waste and single-use plastic when it comes to drinks and food, so there will most likely be a big change in how companies offer their products to customers.
There will definitely be a lot of new trends emerging this year as it’s the first summer after the pandemic. Things like outdoor celebrations and business get togethers will be more commonplace, but there will still be a focus on remote working for the foreseeable future. Whichever way we look at it, summer 2022 is going to be a great one for businesses.
