Some sweet relief has come for families in the Northeast, just in time for the sizzling summer months.
Camelbeach, Pennsylvania’s largest outdoor waterpark, opened for the season Friday. And in addition to the 37 slides and rides that already exist in the Poconos mountainside waterpark, new attractions are set to open later this summer.
Arriving in July will be the Rival Racer waterslide, “where racing friends compete through twists and turns to see who gets to the bottom first,” according to Camelback Resort, which is home to both Camelbeach, as well as Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark.
Also coming later this summer at Camelback are two new 4,000-foot ziplines, joining several other existing lines.
A variety of day passes and package deals are available, depending on if guests are just coming for the waterpark for a day, or staying in the Camelback Lodge, and whether they’re adding activities.
Attractions that are already up-and-running at Camelbeach include the giant water slide, Titan; Blue Nile Adventure River and its waterfalls, geysers and bubbling water; High Noon Typhoon, which soars over mountain treetops; and Pharoah’s Phortress, a play structure with eight water slides.
When families have had their fill of water play, Camelback also offers an arcade, a mountain coaster, a TreeTop Adventures course, laser tag and a little escape room, among other add-ons, all at an additional cost.
