A gunman with a “military-style rifle” allegedly killed two people and shot four others before turning the gun on himself late Saturday night in a Fort Worth suburb.
Police responded to a Haltom City neighborhood around 6:45 p.m. after calls of shots fired and exchanged gunfire with the accused gunman, Sgt. Rick Alexander said during a press conference.
Three officers were shot and taken to local hospitals. All three are expected to survive.
A man was found dead outside the house and a woman was found dead inside, Alexander said.
The original 911 caller, an elderly woman, was shot but is expected to survive.
The shooter was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound about a block away, laying next to the rifle and a second handgun.
None of the victims or the suspect have been publicly identified and a spokesperson for the Haltom City Police Department did not immediately return a request for updates from the Daily News Sunday.
Saturday night’s shooting is at least the 303rd mass shooting this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
