Ravens’ Jaylon Ferguson died from fentanyl and cocaine

The “combined effects of fentanyl and cocaine” reportedly led to the death of Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jaylon Ferguson.

The 6-foot-5, 270-pound pass-rusher’s death is being considered an accident by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, the Baltimore Sun reported. Ferguson, 26, was found unresponsive in his Maryland home shortly before midnight on June 21.

The Ravens described the Louisiana Tech University collegiate standout as “a kind, respectful young man with a big smile and infectious personality” after his death. There were no signs of foul play, Baltimore cops told The News.

Ferguson was drafted by the Ravens with the 85th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft after he broke the Louisiana Tech record for all-time sacks. He leaves behind a son, two daughters and fiancée Doni Smith, according to the Baltimore Sun. Smith expressed her grief on Instagram after Ferguson’s death.

“You really left me in this world alone baby. I’m broken,” she wrote. “I’m hurt. I want you back!!”
