A driver was killed after their car was hit by an Amtrak train in Birmingham, Ala.
Corey Antonia Jones, 43, was killed around 6:20 a.m. Sunday morning when their Ford Fiesta was hit.
Jones was the sole occupant in the car. No one on the train was hurt.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service said Jones drove around the crossing guard arms before the crash.
The Tuesday collision was the third deadly incident involving an Amtrak train this week.
Later on Sunday, three people were killed and two others were injured when their sedan was hit by an Amtrak train in the rural California town Brentwood. That crossing had no guard arms or signals.
