Every nation is led by a group of talented people who represent themselves as successful individuals, be it in politics, sports, finance, or education. They are committed to elevating the progress of their country at a larger scale, leaving a remarkable impression globally. Similarly, just as academic qualifications boost the confidence and intellect of the youth, the unavailability of primary education comes with its own disadvantages.
Disadvantages of illiteracy
The lack of knowledge and awareness restricts an individual from leaping towards productivity and engages them in unethical activities, eventually causing harm to themselves and the people in their surroundings.
Illiteracy disables the youth from gathering enough motivation to give themselves another chance. They lose the confidence, willingness, and motivation to figure things out and get back on track. Just a minor wrong step and all in vain. Lack of education also turns capable individuals into a lost and confused group of people who think a hundred times before making a sound decision. Read Clermont and Beyond by Julius Paul Montgomery to understand the importance of youth counseling and how it can make or break the entire personality of a person.
Clermont and Beyond by Julius Paul Montgomery
In Clermont and Beyond, Julius Paul Montgomery narrates the story of his life as a black boy growing up in the deep south during the Jim Crow era. Montgomery faced many adversities throughout his life, including racism, poverty, and violence. However, he was determined to overcome these obstacles and become successful. He joined the army in hopes of obtaining his pilot’s license. However, after 21 years of service as a veteran, Montgomery founded “Hero’s Club”, a non-profit organization that recognizes successful black men and women. The organization also provides scholarships for qualified youths. Montgomery’s biography is an inspirational story of determination and perseverance in the face of adversity.
A Selfless Humanitarian
In these post-pandemic crisis times, Julius Paul Montgomery, a selfless humanitarian who served 21 years of his life in the United States army, has stepped up to reshape the future of the youth through his advanced educational strategies and programs to fix what has been neglected for quite some time now.
Julius comes from a humble background where he had little to nothing to use as a luxury and spent most of his childhood at a bare minimum. When he reached the age of maturity, and it was time for him to take the responsibility of putting bread on the table, the only bright option he had was to work for a construction company which meant working under people who were comparatively inferior in terms of academic qualifications. With such limited options surrounding him, he decided to step out of his comfort zone and serve the country to become the person he is today.
Serving The U.S. Army
Montgomery joined the United States army in 1959. Throughout his career, he served in various positions, including as an Operations Sergeant in a tank unit in Vietnam. Montgomery’s responsibility required him to direct military activities. He managed the operation’s engineers, soldiers, helicopters, and other combat forces. His tank company was later named Vietnam’s best tank company. Furthermore, the unit went above and beyond the call of duty, earning the company a President Unit Citation.
Hero’s Club—Envisioning A Better Future For Youth
After retiring from the U.S. army, Montgomery is now working on developing educational platforms for the youth to enable them to reach their academic goals and lead successful lives. He founded Hero’s Club on June 19, 2019, with the same mission: to empower at-risk youth and prepare them to face all challenges life throws at them. Montgomery envisions helping young people become so strong and influential that they give back to the community when they grow up as successful individuals.
