What to Look for When Choosing a Stroller Organizer? My husband and I used to talk longingly about our baby stroller and diaper bag when I was pregnant with our daughter, which we used to store groceries in, carry bags, and serve as a catch-all for our stuff on long days out and short trips to the store. The two of us walked and took public transit everywhere at the time, as solid urban dwellers.
The naiveté of our youth.
We realized that strollers can also be a real pain in the rear – for all their benefits.
Two blocks from our house, our first outing with our daughter was to the coffee shop. As a result, I was quite surprised at how difficult it is to maneuver a newborn in a compact stroller up curbs or over tram tracks. This was particularly true considering I was still balancing life after a C-section, as well as holding an iced latte in one hand.
My stroller sunshade got a good coating of coffee after I spilled a fair amount of coffee on it.
Stroller Organizer Bags: Factors to Consider
Check whether the stroller organizers will actually fit your stroller and your needs before deciding which one to choose! You should keep the following in mind:
Super Lightweight Strollers
The GB Pockit is not compatible with most stroller organizers. By Skip Hop Grab organizer and Pockit stroller were used together while on vacation in Italy.in Italy. Pockit could not handle the full load of the Skip Hop stroller organizer. The weight of the organizer would tip my daughter’s stroller backward every time I lifted her out. In general, stroller organizer bags do not work well with umbrella stroller for tall parents.
Single vs Double Strollers
A single stroller organizer is also common among stroller organizers. Double-check that your side-by-side double will still work if you own one.
Attachment with sturdy, adjustable straps
In most strollers, velcro straps are used to attach them to the car. A bag with a velcro strap that is pretty substantial is worth looking for. Regularly slipping or falling off something defeats the purpose. Besides being annoying, this will be a real pain.
The Organizer Closures
The main compartment of the Ethan and Emma bag is magnetically closed. Traveling to a vacation destination that targets tourists and frazzled mothers (I’m looking at you, Barcelona) is particularly helpful.
Washability
For most baby and toddler gear, this is an important consideration. For transporting coffees and milk bottles, a stroller organizer works great but spills still happen. Whenever a full container goes over the curb, etc., it spills onto the organizer. r. Whenever our daughter rejects snacks, crumbs accumulate in the main compartment.
An insulator
The organizer should fit your needs based on what you plan to store and use it for. At this stage, I am only moderately concerned with having insulated cup holder pockets. When we’re out, I don’t need to keep milk cool for our daughter because she no longer has a milk bottle. Also, I drink my coffee before it gets cold, so I don’t need to insulate it!
Stroller organizers should not affect stroller folding in an ideal world. Typically, strollers are only attached to their top handles, so they can be collapsed easily. Be sure to double-check this before you purchase it, however.
Stroller Organizer Safety
You should always read the manual of the stroller organizer before putting your child in it.
Although stroller organizers may seem absurd, they can actually pose a safety risk. This is something I have personally experienced. Ternoon, I had a fully loaded organizer that was too heavy for the stroller I was using. My daughter was strapped into the stroller when it tipped backward. Thank goodness, the organizer cushioned her fall – she had her head aligned with it. That freaked me out, and I failed to childproof my home!
Stroller Organizer Bags: Final Thoughts
The Ethan and Emma stroller organizer is my recommendation for most families. In addition, Diono Buggy Buddy and Itzy Ritzy stroller organizer bags are worth checking out. As a last resort, if you have a need for extra storage, check out the J.L. The J.L. Childress Side Sling Mesh Cargo Net can provide you with additional storage.
